MOBILE EDUCATION PARTNERSHIPS

About us

Mobile Education Partnerships (MEP) is an award winning UK based educational charity working in Myanmar and on the Thai/Myanmar border. Our mission is to inspire, train and support teachers working in conflict areas and marginalised communities. Our vision is of schools where teachers nurture children in positive and safe learning environments.

The Great North Run is now the biggest half marathon in the world with over 57,000 runners taking on the 13.1 mile course across Newcastle and all live on the BBC. The route starts in Gateshead and goes past all the Newcastle landmarks including the spectacular Tyne Bridge ending along the sea front at South Shields.

Any money raised will help fund our vitally important work to train teachers in extremely poor, marginalised and remote parts of Myanmar.. This is a time when the need in Myanmar is greater than ever before. A lot of schools have been closed, many teachers have been dismissed for refusing to co-operate with the military and large numbers of parents are unwilling to risk their children travelling to school. The funds raised will allow MEP to continue to support teachers and children in Myanmar at this time of extreme crisis. We are offering hope for the future and helping to give children their basic human right to receive education.
